Where to take the EPA 608 exam

EPA does not administer the Section 608 exam itself. It approves outside organizations to do it, and only a test from one of them counts. There are currently 87 approved programs. 75 are open to the general public, and 15 of those offer remote or online testing, so you may not need to travel at all.

Read this before you pick one

• The address is the head office, not the test centre. EPA lists headquarters. Many of these programs run testing sites all over the country, so a program based three states away may well test ten minutes from you. Ask them.
• Remote is a real option. 15 of the public programs will test you without you travelling anywhere.
• Universal requires a proctored core exam. EPA is explicit that the core test has to be proctored if you want Universal certification, so an open-book take-at-home core will not get you there.
• EPA does not publish which types each program offers. Most do all four, but confirm before paying if you need a specific one.
• 12 programs on EPA's list are closed to the public, serving only their own employees, military personnel or enrolled students. They are excluded from the table below and listed separately at the bottom.
